Having spent 17 hours trapped under the rubble of his home during the 1999 disaster, the medical professional now focuses on specialized treatments to prevent limb loss.
The hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves placing patients inside a specialized treatment chamber where they breathe pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. This method is primarily used to accelerate healing in severe wounds, treat tissue damage, and manage severe infections, significantly reducing the risk of amputation for patients with critical injuries.
