Investigation Launched Following Vandalism at Historic Armenian Cemetery in Üsküdar

The Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey has issued a formal statement condemning an overnight vandalism incident at the historic Surp Garabet Armenian Cemetery located in Istanbul's Üsküdar district. An unidentified individual scaled the perimeter walls during the night, causing physical damage to an ancient decorative water fountain and six individual graves.

The board of the Üsküdar Surp Garabet Church Foundation immediately briefed local police directorates, prompting forensic teams to launch an active investigation to identify and capture the perpetrator.
