Mohamed Salah Lands in Istanbul Ahead of Expected Transfer to Trabzonspor
Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has arrived in Istanbul to complete medical checks and finalize negotiations regarding a transfer to Turkish Süper Lig side Trabzonspor.
Trabzonspor officially announced on Türkiye's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that formal negotiations had opened to sign the 34-year-old forward as a free agent. Trabzonspor Chairman Ertuğrul Doğan confirmed that Salah landed at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport on a private flight, where he was greeted by supporters before heading to medical examinations. Upon completion of health screenings, the player is expected to travel to Trabzon to sign the official contract.
The move follows Salah's departure from English Premier League side Liverpool after a nine-year tenure during which he scored 257 goals in 442 appearances and won multiple major trophies, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Süper Lig last season and is set to participate in the upcoming UEFA Europa League playoff round.
