Russia Attributes Failure of 2022 Istanbul-Ukraine Peace Agreement to Western Interference
Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has stated that Western intervention directly prevented the implementation of the peace agreement negotiated between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul in 2022. Speaking on diplomatic history, Shoigu claimed that a framework for resolving the conflict had been structurally outlined during the Istanbul talks before external diplomatic and political interference from Western nations led to the derailment of the diplomatic process.
