The assembly focused heavily on implementing a robust legislative and financial framework ahead of the upcoming NATO Leaders Summit in Ankara.

Key discussions centered on four priority pillars:

  • Defense Investment: Operationalizing the target goal for member nations to invest 5% of their GDP annually in defense and security-related requirements.

  • Transatlantic Production: Expanding and reinforcing the defense technological and industrial base to accelerate manufacturing and delivery timelines.

  • Regional Support: Solidifying long-term resources and continuous defense support pipelines for Ukraine.

  • Enhancing Resilience: Preparing allied infrastructure to deter and defend against evolving global security threats.

During the opening proceedings, NATO PA President Marcos Perestrello emphasized that member nations must establish clear, credible routes toward executing the historic commitments agreed upon during previous allied summits.
