Zelenskyy's Strategic Visit to Istanbul: Diplomatic Push Amid Ongoing Airstrikes
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to Istanbul for critical diplomatic talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, even as Russia and Ukraine continued to trade deadly strikes against civilian and energy infrastructure back home. The summit, which was immediately preceded by a phone call between Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, positioned Turkey once again as an active mediator in the conflict. During the meeting, President Erdogan offered Istanbul as a venue for future peace negotiations involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States. Furthermore, the two leaders agreed on new security cooperation and joint energy projects.
