Irish Tourist Awarded Compensation Over Stray Dog Attack at Yenikapı Metro
An Irish tourist, Samuel Grzywna, has successfully won a lawsuit against local public authorities after sustaining injuries from a stray dog attack at the Yenikapı Metro Station in Istanbul's Fatih district. The court awarded Grzywna a total of TL 256,713.40 (approximately $5,620) in material and moral damages, concluding that the authorities had failed in their municipal duties to safely manage the city's stray animal population in public transit areas.
