Dutch Drug Suspect Detained in Istanbul
Turkish intelligence and police forces have apprehended the brother of Joseph Johannes Leijdekkers, a fugitive Dutch drug trafficker. The detention in Istanbul follows a major cocaine seizure in Spain that authorities linked to Turkish ship operators. In a separate legal matter tied to the city, an investigating judge in France will review complaints filed by two rights groups against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The complaints allege his involvement in the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which took place at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
