Diplomacy and Regional Protests in Central Istanbul
Istanbul continues to serve as a vital focal point for both international diplomacy and civic demonstrations. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan officially welcomed Denis Becirovic, the Bosnian leader, at the historic Dolmabahçe Palace, reaffirming Türkiye's unconditional support for Bosnia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Concurrently, the Bangladesh Consulate General in Istanbul celebrated its Independence and National Day, further reinforcing bilateral ties.
Amidst these diplomatic engagements, public sentiment over regional geopolitics has also taken center stage. Despite heavy rains, nearly a thousand demonstrators gathered in central Istanbul for a pro-Palestinian rally. Organized by conservative nonprofits, the protesters chanted slogans against the United States and Israel, expressing widespread regional concerns over the ongoing American-Israeli war against Iran and operations in Gaza.
